Guess what? Started a part-time gig this week! 🥳
I spotted a gig for a local olive shop through a Facebook group that was only looking for 2-3 days a week. The pay and tips were tempting, so why not give it a shot? It almost felt like fate, especially with the shop's flagship store being from my hometown, owned by an alumni from my same high school.
Taking a job just because it sounded fun,not out of survival or necessity, turned out to be a breath of fresh air I desperately needed. The owner doesn't mind me working on my business during my shifts, and with ample downtime, makes this a very laid-back and stress-free environment. A much-needed break for my mental health during a challenging time.
Despite progress in my business this year, financial struggles prompted a reality check. I sold my house last year and invested everything into a VERY expensive dream. It’s been a costly ride but I'm closer to that dream becoming reality now than I ever could have been staying at my last job. Now, with a family to support, finding stable income became essential. This job not only adds to my independence but also lightens the financial load on my husband, who's been joining this journey alongside me.
Tonight, we're celebrating with the shop's Dirty Martini Mix topped off with their lemon peel and feta stuffed olives. Here’s to small wins and a fantastic job!
Cheers! 🥂
